Lyon, Annecy & the French Northern Alps

The beautiful city of Lyon is nicely situated between the rivers of Rhône and Soâne. Lyon holds a number of pleasant elderly neighbourhoods dating back to the 16 & 17th century. The city centre is located on a peninsula and offers lots of fabulous restaurants and shopping facilities. Once a thriving commercial town (silks & garments) Lyon is today known for its opera and vast number of gourmet restaurants. In the areas surrounding Lyon we find a number of picturesque medieval villages & vineyards.

Lyon can be reached by direct flight or TGV train from Paris. The international airport of Geneva (Switzerland) is just 150 km away.

The mountain village of Annecy is idyllically situated in the northern part of the French Alps. The city has a unique appearance just on the shore of the big lake of Annecy. Around the lake mountain ridges are piling up contributing to the dramatic silhouette of the village. A cosy atmosphere is characterising the village centre with its small canals and nicely decorated bridges. The architecture is charming offering a combination of half-timbered and smaller stone houses. The famous ski resorts of Chamonix, La Clusaz, Morzine & Megeve are situated close by. Annecy is just 45 km from the international airport of Geneva.
